"The tripartite structure of the building strongly reminds the idea of the Underworld. The pilgrims were subjected to three stages of physical and spiritual tests during their long-lasting stay in the dark rooms of the oracle. Through isolation, magical rituals, prayers and invocations, wandering in the dark corridors, having the common faith in the apparition of the dead, and being obliged to follow a special diet, they were appropriately prepared to meet the souls of the dead."

The Necromanteion ( nekromanteion / nekyomanteion ) or oracle of the dead, of the ancient Greek world lies near the northwest shores of the Acherousian Lake, where Acheron and Kokytos, the rivers of Hades, meet. Ancient literary sources describe the Acherousian Lake as the place where the dead began their descent to Hades, and associate Ephyra, the Epirote city located further north, with the ancient cult of the god of death. The necromanteion attracted people wishing to meet the souls of the dead, as these were able to foresee the future after having left their body.

Necromanteion Studio is the studio of musician/songwriter H. XUL (Funeral Winds / Domini Inferi / Haatstrijd) who once visited this mystical site in the early '90s and adapted this name to his personal recording studio.

H. XUL is a Digidesign Trained / Pro Tools Certified, SAE (School of Audio Engineering) graduated audio engineer who runs his own studio in recording , mixing and mastering as well as working freelance at other studio's.
